About

Grace Sparkes House officially opened in October, 2000 following many years of lobbying by concerned citizens and service providers on the Burin Peninsula to ensure the women and children from this region had a safe haven for support.

Our Mandate

Grace Sparkes House offers services to women, with or without children, who are experiencing violence and abuse. Our goal is to support those using our service regain control over their lives. We do this by offering a safe and supportive living environment, information and supportive counseling. We seek to assist women in making decisions necessary to make a fresh start with a non-judgmental, empowering approach.

If you would like to talk to someone about our services, or want to come to the shelter, please call 1-877-774-4957. We operate a 24-hour crisis telephone line and will provide you with transportation.
